When I live my life Over Again

Almost all of us might have desired and hoped at some point in our life, that may we get an opportunity to live our life over again. We think that, if we got that chance to live our life again, then we would do this, and that. The list continues….

We fantasize in our minds that we would fulfil our unfulfilled desires. We would eat more ice creams, chocolates, and pastries. We would go on long trips to our most favourite places. We would spend time in amusement parks, such as, in merry-go-rounds, slides, swings, water parks, etc. And so on. This article has depicted the fantasies of people who think about what they would do if they get a chance to live their life again, or if they want to know how to restart life.

Many people think from a different perspective.

When Nadine Stair, an 85-year-old woman from Louisville, Kentucky was enquired, “How would you have lived your life differently if you had a chance?” Then she gave fantastic replies.

She told that ‘If I got a chance to live my life over again, then I would dare to do more mistakes than I did before. I would develop my skills and make myself more perfect for any work of my life. I would take more chances in my life. I would take things more lightly, instead of taking them seriously.

Because life is very short. Life is not meant to be serious. It is meant to be silly, have fun, enjoy whenever you get time. And, time is very precious. Do your work and at the same time, pursue your hobbies. Use your leisure time wisely. Do whatever you love to do. Whether it may be gardening, dancing, listening to songs, singing songs, reading novels, playing musical instruments, visiting new places, spending time with pet animals. People also love to play indoor games such as carrom, ludo, chess, etc., or outdoor games such as, badminton, lawn tennis, table tennis, kabaddi, kho-kho, basketball, volleyball, etc. Also, many people pursue athletic sports such as running races, discus throw, high jump, long jump, hammer throw, etc.

Enjoy your life to the fullest. Live as a small child does. Laugh a lot. Spend more time with your friends and enjoy yourself. Cherish and value every moment. Don’t have any negative feelings such as hate, anger, jealousy, etc. in your mind for other fellow human beings. Always treat every other creature of God’s creation with love, compassion, kindness, good behaviour, etc. If you treat someone with love and good behaviour, you will also get back that same emotion of love and good behaviour from the other person.

If you practice kindness and compassion towards others, then you may not get that back, but you will surely feel happy, relaxed, and satisfied within yourself. Because you know you have done a good job. For example, if you donate some amount of money, or clothes, or books, or food to a needy person, then you will surely feel joy and contentment on thinking that you have been of help to someone and you brought a smile on their faces.

There are many quotes on ‘if I had my life to live over’. You can read those quotes from this page.

‘If I had my life to live over again, I would ask that not a thing be changed, but that my eyes be opened wider’.

Also, many other elders, on being questioned about what they would do, if they got another chance to live their life, told that they would work more effectively and simultaneously find time for themselves and relax well. They suggested good advice, ‘Don’t try to get somewhere in the future, instead of living in the present. Live a conscious life, and do good to others. Love other people and all other creatures on our planet, Earth. Don’t be unkind or rude to others.

Don’t wait for the right time to come for being happy and enjoying life properly. Do whatever you want to do. Work hard consistently in the path of your goals, and fulfil your dreams. You will be happy automatically, and you will feel satisfied that you have accomplished your dreams, and lived life to the fullest. Don’t think that you might get a chance to live your life again, and you will do all those which you had wished to do, but could not do in this present life of yours. Keep importance on getting things done instead of hoping to enjoy the unfolding dance of the present life.

Because in the pursuit of trying to do something better the next time in our lives, or instead of fantasizing about what to do if we get another chance to live our lives, we are changing our lives. So, instead of good things happening, bad things happen to us sometimes. So, live life in the present and neither look for happiness in the future nor dwell in the past of your life. If we live our lives mindfully, then we will concentrate on our work in a better and more effective way. That will help you to achieve good results, and give your best performance. Then you will live a joyful and content life.

Also, if you live life in the present moment, then you will live cheerfully and your mind will have positive thoughts. And, having positive thoughts is more likely to attract good situations in your life.

‘Kal kare so aaj kar, aaj kare so ab. Pal mein parlay hoyegi, bahuri karoge kab’.

The meaning of this famous Hindi Doha by the great and famous 15th-century Indian poet, Kabir is:

‘Perform tomorrow’s work today. Do today’s work now in the present moment. If the time is lost, then how will you do or complete the work’.

Hurry up in your life, when life demands. Also, slow down and enjoy the most when life demands.

This is the moment.

This is your one and only precious life.

The present moment is your precious moment.
